The launch of preliminary CEPA negotiations reflects the two governments’ shared aspirations to promote bilateral economic relations, boost investment and trade exchanges, expedite the flow of goods, facilitate market access and create new joint investments and projects in priority sectors.
This translates into 40 new investment projects (a record figure that is double what was reached in 2017 and 2018) and 61 multinational companies that continued to trust and reinvest in the country.
The services sector was consolidated as the greatest number of projects attracted in 2022. The life sciences securer booked five new companies, while seven new operations were set up in the manufacturing sector. Finally, the year 2022 closed with five new projects related to tourism infrastructure.
The project «Aligning the Financial Flows of Costa Rican Financial Sector with the Climate Change Objectives of the Paris Agreement» was presented to support Costa Rica’s goal of achieving zero-emissions by 2050.
The project will create a framework to map, quantify, and disclose climate-related financial risks.
